We don’t forgive time for its limitations. We suffer through every lost hour, vindictive, as if our anger could change its pace. And what if you were able to use your time however you like? You are still indebted to your hunger, to rest. Time will never be “ours” the way money can be made and kept.

To know value you must give in to juxtaposition. Happiness is made richer by the miserable, and joy gives sadness more depth. So to lie there at night, regretful of how quickly another day has passed, is cultivation for gratitude. An awareness of what you have and a longing to hold on to it.

Time teaches. Shows us what’s meant for us. The less we resist, the more we understand, the better we live.
